Watersports. The ultimate for fun, fast thrills. Watersports have become increasingly popular over the last few years. There is nothing like the exhilaration of being towed behind a fast boat, whether on skis, wakeboards or blasters (new developments from tubes.)   There is a great deal of skill involved in riding some of those, and there are so many different kinds available, depending on your own requirements. Then there are some towables for plain fun -- for kids and families -- and even floating, inflatable trampolines.

For the serious watersporters, there are many wakeboards with very sophisticated design characteristics such that riders can choose the kind of ride they want -- stable, greater carve on the wake, and the ability to snap off the wake and have soft landings. Some of the boards are fairly simple, some have continuous rockers and others 3-stage rockers. The bindings are equally sophisticated, with all of them providing hard, boot-like support to keep heels locked down and feet and ankles supported.   Most boards are made from compression-molded fiberglass. There are also kneeboards - with kneepads, shock straps and reinforced toe areas. They are also high-performance and can provide edge control and acceleration, getting you into the air.

The days of towed inner tubes are over! Today's tubes are Blasters -- for "extreme action" in wakes. The riders have control over steering the tubes; they have handles and knuckle guards, some have seat pads, and most have drains for water removal. There are even extreme action tubes for two or three people, although those for twos and threes can also be used for lounging.   There are even huge towables that can hold up to ten people.   There is even a towable water sled that can double as a swimming and sunning platform.

Trampolines have become very popular. Small ones are 10' in diameter, and go all the way to 25' giant trampolines.   They can also double as a sun deck.   They are just right for summer fun on a lake, river or quiet bay.

Water skiing is still as popular as ever, and today, skiers have some good selections from which to choose. Combo skis are available for both recreational skiing and slalom, and those for children even have stabilizer bars or crossbars to improve balance. Once they are comfortable on the skis, the children can remove the bars. Slalom skis are available on their own, and must be selected in terms of the weight of the person and the boat speed.   Tables can indicate the appropriate length.

For many of these activities, depending on the time of the year and the temperature of the water, wetsuits are a must.   They come as full wetsuits with neck and wrist seals and wind-proof construction with no seams; or as spring suits that have thigh-length legs.

Life-vests are a necessity for watersports, they need to be more flexible and of lighter weight than boaters' life-vests.
